· Matthew 1:1–17
Matthew begins with a genealogy full of generations, disruptions and complicated lives. God’s work does not depend on a spotless family record. We can honour what was good, name what caused harm and refuse to pass destructive patterns forward. Grace does not erase history; it opens a faithful next chapter. Choose one inheritance to cherish and one pattern to change with appropriate support. Both choices can become an act of hope.
A question to sit with
What family gift can I carry forward, and what harmful pattern needs to end?
One small step
Thank someone for one life-giving inheritance, then take one supported step toward changing a harmful pattern.
Pray
God of every generation, receive my real history. Strengthen what gives life, heal what has harmed and guide the next faithful chapter. Amen.
