Ask what truth requires

Religious leaders question Jesus’ authority, but their private calculation shows that reputation matters more to them than truth. We can use endless analysis to avoid an answer that may cost us something. Consider one decision where the facts are already clear enough. What honest response follows, even if it changes how others see you? Prudence still matters, especially where safety is involved, but evasion is not discernment.

A question to sit with

Which question am I keeping open because the honest answer feels costly?

One small step

Name the decision, consult one trustworthy person and take the smallest truthful step that belongs to you.

Pray

God of truth, free me from evasions that protect my image. Give me prudence, honesty and courage for the response You ask of me. Amen.
