· Matthew 11:11–15
Jesus honours John the Baptist, whose message was demanding and easy to resist. We often prefer guidance that confirms what we already want. Discernment does not mean accepting every criticism, but it does require listening for truth before defending ourselves. Consider one message that unsettled you. Separate the person’s tone from any useful truth, and seek wise counsel if the situation is unclear or unsafe.
A question to sit with
What truth might I be resisting because I dislike how it reached me?
One small step
Review one difficult message with a trustworthy person and identify any honest next step it contains.
Pray
Holy Spirit, give me humility to hear truth, wisdom to reject harm and courage to act on what leads me closer to Christ. Amen.
