· Luke 5:17–26
Friends carry a man to Jesus and find a way through the crowd. Their faith becomes practical support. This story does not promise that every illness will be cured in the way we ask, and nobody should be blamed for continuing pain or disability. It does invite us to help another person reach care, community and prayer without taking control of their choices. Stay present after the first offer.
A question to sit with
Who might need steady companionship more than advice?
One small step
Offer one practical form of support and ask the person what would make it genuinely useful.
Pray
Jesus, make me a faithful companion. Help me carry hope with humility and honour the choices, dignity and needs of the person beside me. Amen.
