· Luke 21:5–11
Jesus warns his listeners not to be deceived or terrified by dramatic claims. Fear can make every headline feel like a secret timetable we must decode. Christian watchfulness is steadier: check sources, resist rumours and keep doing the good that belongs to the present moment. If the news is overwhelming, choose a reliable summary and then step away. Prayer can return attention to God without denying real suffering.
A question to sit with
What fearful claim have I accepted or repeated without checking it carefully?
One small step
Verify one alarming story with a trustworthy source, and do not share it if the facts remain unclear.
Pray
Lord of history, guard me from panic and deception. Give me clear judgment, compassion and courage for the work of today. Amen.
