Recognise the King nearby

Jesus identifies himself with people who are hungry, ill, displaced, without clothing or imprisoned. The passage does not ask us to admire need from a distance. It calls us to notice real people and respond without turning service into a performance. Choose one work of mercy suited to your capacity. Ask what is useful, respect the person’s agency and join a trustworthy community effort when the need is larger than you can meet alone.

Whom do I find easiest to overlook or reduce to a category?

One small step

Ask a local ministry for one current need and contribute a specific item, hour or skill.

Pray

Christ our King, let me recognise You in every person. Make my care practical, respectful and free from the need to be praised. Amen.
