· Luke 19:45–48
Jesus clears the temple of practices that have distorted its purpose. The scene can tempt us to focus on other people’s failures while ignoring what crowds our own attention. Notice one habit that keeps prayer at the edge of your day or makes another person feel used rather than respected. Clear a modest space: silence a notification, correct an unfair arrangement or return something borrowed. A small act of integrity can make room for worship.
A question to sit with
What is crowding out attention to God or respect for another person?
One small step
Remove one avoidable distraction or correct one small practice that treats someone unfairly.
Pray
Jesus, clear what distorts my priorities. Make my choices honest and my life a place where prayer and justice belong together. Amen.
